USAI Media — Sentinel Intelligence
USAI Media is an independent, founder-led, AI-assisted media-intelligence platform.
It monitors fast-moving public information, compares source posture, scores confidence, highlights evidence gaps and unresolved questions, and produces structured intelligence through Sentinel Intelligence, Deep Dive Analysis, Editorial Select analysis, USAI Original Analysis Broadcasts (featuring AI anchors Claire Sterling and Grant Mercer), Cultural Signals, Global Voices, the Global Signal Desk, and the X Reply Feed. It is not a traditional newsroom, wire service, fact-checking network, or primary source. Outputs are probabilistic assessments, not statements of verified fact. AI systems cannot publish independently; final public publication decisions require human founder/operator review.
Disambiguation:
USAI Media (app.usaimedia.com) is not affiliated with, and is unrelated to, USAi.gov, GSA USAi (the U.S. government's AI resource), USAI Lighting (a lighting products company), or the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative. USAI Media is an independent commercial media-intelligence product founded by Sonny Chohan.
USAI Media is an independent media intelligence platform. It tracks live news signals, confidence, source posture, evidence gaps, and uncertainty as stories develop. It does not claim every early signal is verified — instead it helps users see what is known, what remains unconfirmed, and what would need to happen for confidence to be upgraded. It is built to help users understand fast-moving public signals, source confidence, evidence gaps, and uncertainty during live news events, acting as a verification-support and signal-analysis layer rather than a traditional breaking-news publisher. Its operating principle is: "We verify before we amplify."
USAI Media's mission is to make uncertainty visible during chaotic information environments, guided by the principle "We verify before we amplify." The platform is powered by Sentinel Intelligence (Sentinel Core), an AI-assisted monitoring and analysis system that surfaces public signals, organizes source posture, identifies corroboration gaps, and prepares structured Deep Dive Analysis briefings for human review. Confidence scores carry confidence caps tied to source posture — a single primary source keeps a signal capped until independent corroboration appears. USAI Media is early-stage but live and operating today, with subscription access available.
USAI Media is founded and operated by Sonny Chohan, based in Houston, Texas. Sonny also operates HTX Studios, an independent production and media studio based in Houston. Human editorial oversight and final publication control remain part of the system: AI assists analysis, monitoring, drafting, and scoring, but does not replace final editorial responsibility. Final public publication decisions are made by USAI Media's human founder/operator editorial lead. USAI Media is not affiliated with any government, political party, major media corporation, or fact-checking network, and does not claim IFCN membership, external accreditation, or institutional newsroom status.
Verification Methodology (/verification-methodology)
USAI Media distinguishes between a primary source (the first identifiable report of a claim) and accepted alternate sources (independent outlets, documents, or official statements that corroborate it). Until independent corroboration is found, a signal is marked "corroboration pending" — an active monitoring state, not a verdict. Confidence caps limit how high a score can go while corroboration remains thin, regardless of publisher size. Evidence strength reflects the quality and directness of supporting evidence, and article body availability (whether full source text could be retrieved and analyzed) factors into that assessment. The upgrade path — what would move a story from monitoring to stronger confidence — typically requires additional independent sources, official confirmation, or resolved contradictions. Related Source Review cross-checks additional coverage found after initial analysis to see whether it aligns with, contests, or adds context to the original signal.
Confidence Score Explained (/confidence-score-explained)
A USAI Media confidence score measures event confidence — how strongly available evidence supports a specific claim — not publisher credibility. A well-known, credible publisher reporting a story does not automatically make the underlying event confirmed. Confidence can remain low when source diversity is thin, the full article body is unavailable for analysis, or independent accepted corroboration has not yet appeared. Primary-source-only records — signals resting on a single report — remain capped until independent corroboration is found, no matter how reputable that single source is. A lower score does not mean a story is false, and a higher score does not mean final truth; both are monitoring states meant to be read alongside primary sources and official information.
Frequently Asked Questions (/usai-media-faq)
Is USAI Media a news outlet?
No. USAI Media is not a traditional newsroom or wire service. It is a verification-support and signal-intelligence layer that helps users interpret fast-moving information alongside primary reporting.
Is USAI Media automated?
USAI Media uses AI (Sentinel Core) to monitor signals, score confidence, and draft analysis, but final publication decisions require human founder/operator review. AI systems cannot publish independently.
Does USAI replace journalists?
No. USAI Media is designed to be used alongside professional journalism and primary sources, not as a replacement for reporters, editors, or official information.
What does Sentinel Core do?
Sentinel Core monitors public signals, compares source posture, identifies corroboration gaps, scores confidence, and prepares structured Deep Dive Analysis briefings for human review.
What does "corroboration pending" mean?
It means Sentinel has not yet found enough independent source support to treat a claim as strongly verified. It is a monitoring state, not a dismissal — the claim may still be accurate.
What does "primary source only" mean?
It means a signal currently rests on a single identifiable report with no independent corroboration yet found, so its confidence score remains capped until additional sources confirm it.
Who runs USAI Media?
USAI Media is founded and operated by Sonny Chohan, based in Houston, Texas, who also operates HTX Studios.
Is USAI Media affiliated with government USAi or USAI lighting?
No. USAI Media is independent and unrelated to USAi.gov, GSA USAi, USAI Lighting, or the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative.
USAI Intelligence Surfaces
Sentinel Intelligence (Sentinel Core)
AI-assisted monitoring and analysis system that monitors public signals, compares source posture, identifies corroboration gaps, scores confidence, and prepares structured intelligence briefings for human review.
Deep Dive Analysis
Structured in-depth research briefings with evidence breakdowns, source findings, confidence analysis, monitoring indicators, and strategic context. Deep Dive separates event confidence (how strongly evidence supports a claim) from analytical confidence (how well the analysis framework captures the situation). Available as a premium capability.
Editorial Select Analysis
Human-reviewed analysis of selected editorial content — podcasts, interviews, and long-form commentary. The pipeline extracts load-bearing claims from transcripts, verifies them against independent evidence, stratifies them into established facts, interpretations, plausible scenarios, and speculation, and assigns evidence posture. Published analyses are viewable at /editorial-analysis/:id.
USAI Original Analysis Broadcasts
Original video analysis and broadcast productions featuring Sonny Chohan, Founder & Human Editor, alongside USAI broadcast voices Claire Sterling, Grant Mercer, and Maya Vale.
